Exploring London

Friday, September 7, 2018

As many people know, one of my absolute favorite places is the UK. I'm always begging Tony to go back! There are so many reasons why I love it, history, architecture, landscape.  I thought I would highlight some of my favorite spots in and around London, as well as walking routes Tony and I have taken!

Here are a few must see spots for your first time in London. Tony and I have walked to all of these locations, not necessarily all in one day so feel free to break it up in whatever way works best for your schedule! Feel free to use this map to get a sense of where everything is and walking distance.

A - Portobello Road - The world's largest antique market! I never get a chance to really explore this area so I'll be sure to take more pics and share them when I go back in October!

B - Notting Hill - Super cute trendy spot!

C - Churchill Arms - Beautiful pub!!

D - Kensington Palace - Love these old Royal Residences.

E - Hyde Park - Gorgeous huge park!

F - Buckingham Palace - You have to stop by Buckingham Palace to maybe catch a glimpse of the Queen and to see the guard change!

G - St. James Park - Another beautiful park to explore

H - Westminster Abbey - Beautiful gothic abbey

I - Big Ben - Iconic bell tower at the end of the Westminster Palace

J - London Eye - Giant Ferris Wheel on the bank of the river Thames

B - Shakespeare Globe Theatre - Never got to see a play here but an awesome reconstruction  (google maps only lets you put in a certain number of destinations so I always start another layer to keep my destination going)

C - London Bridge

D - Tower Bridge - Another iconic structure in London

E - Tower of London - Check out the crown jewels

F - Covent Garden - Another great spot to hang out, shop, and people watch

G - Neal's Yard - Not far from Coven Garden, cute little spot with bright colored buildings

H - Piccadilly Circus - Square in the heart of London

I - Trafalgar Square

I didn't include these last two things on the map but for all my Harry Potter Fans I loved going through Kings Cross Station, they have a Platform 9 3/4 and little HP shop and I think the station is beautiful!

Another fun place to visit that is a little outside of London was the Warner Bros Studio Tour London. They had a bunch of props from the movie and of course delicious Butterbeer!

Hope this gives all you first time London visitors a place to start planning your must see spots! For any questions feel free to comment or shoot me a message! Stay tuned for more places we love in the UK!

Cheers
